Visualisation methods provide an important tool in science for the analysis and presentation of scientific work.  Images can often convey information in a way that tables of data or equations cannot match.  Images of science spark conversation, raise awareness of research and drive engagement with the public and community.

The Dairy Processing Technology Centre (DPTC) in now accepting entries for the Dairy Lipids Science Image & Video Competition which will run in advance of the 16th Euro Fed Lipid Congress and Expo.

The Science + Art Dairy Lipid Image and Video Competition is now open to ALL scientists/technologists/ industry from the EU and across the globe.

Submission deadline: 10 August 2018.

What types of media can be submitted?

We are looking for

  • innovative or striking images that offer novel insights into our understanding of the chemistry, physics and functionality of dairy lipids/and lipid-containing dairy foods from lipid production and quality and structure, to the capture of specific behaviours during processing and storage, digestion, effects on the human health etc.
  • Images and videos produced during the course of your research activities and obtained from various imaging and visualisation tools (e.g. macro-images, electron and confocal microscopy, NIR, 3-D images, fluorescent microscopy, medical/anatomical illustrations, x-ray crystallography, MRI, histology, gel electrophoresis, data visualizations).
